Reflecting on 2024: A Year of Progress, Partnerships, and Exciting Milestones

What a year it’s been! As we wrap up 2024 and prepare for 2025, let’s take a look at a fantastic 12 months including our first full year in our new offices, a half marathon for charity, progress at One Eastside and a new collaboration with BCU, not to mention demolition works and a new identity at Brindley Drive.

In February, the team were joined by clients, partners and friends to run a half marathon in aid of Birmingham charity, Free@last, who we’re supporting again this Christmas. The charity works tirelessly to provide the next generation with the skills they need to improve their quality of life and build a successful future. Last year we’re proud to have raised £22,000 for the cause.

Views from One Eastside

Over at One Eastside, we’re reaching for the sky with our £200m BTR scheme next to the new Curzon Street HS2 station. Work has continued to progress at an impressive pace since we welcomed former West Midlands Mayor Andy Street and our funding partners PIC to the site at the start of the year.

One Eastside will include 667 high-quality new homes across two towers, with the tallest topping out at a city-leading 51 storeys. It’ll feature top-class co-working space and amenities for residents such as a cinema room, sky lounge and a gym when it completes in 2026.

We later teamed up with Birmingham City University to launch our Digital Twin initiative, with digital construction and AI experts at BCU creating a virtual 3D model of One Eastside so that we can monitor, visualise and predict air quality and energy consumption in the building, making such a tall building digitally driven, healthier, and safer.

This exciting collaboration has also taken another step forward with our newly-launched mentoring scheme, where members of our team have been assigned to five quantity surveying students at BCU and will advise and guide the quintet to help prepare them for the workplace.

It’s an honour to help nurture some of the next generation of professionals in this way!

One Eastside

Looking ahead, we can’t wait to top out at One Eastside in the spring.

2025 is also going to see another scheme start to come out of the ground. Over at the former Paradise car park in the very centre of the city, another major 2024 milestone has been achieved with demolition works continuing.

What’s more, our Brindley Drive scheme has of course been given a fresh new identity to reflect the five-star offer coming to the Birmingham residential market. In collaboration with our sales partner, Select Property, we launched Edition Birmingham this autumn, the most exclusive residential development of its kind to come to the city.

Rounding up a huge 12 months, our CEO, Alex Neale, had this to say: “Huge thanks to everybody that has supported us or worked with us in 2024.
